**No one makes money on this event. It is our goal to end each event at a cost neutral status.
2. Why do you require volunteer labor if we are paying to attend?
We believe service to community builds strong communities. Everyone is expected to contribute 2 hrs of labor over the weekend this can not be delegated to others as it is the way we invest in our community. This also means the labor is not falling on a few people all weekend and that everyone gets time to relax.
3. Where is camp?
Camp is about 18 miles from Gold Beach Oregon
Camp is located 8 miles down a logging road in the middle of nowhere.
4. Can I fly there?
The closest airports are Del Norte County Airport: with daily flights from Oakland (OAK) and LA(HHR) and Southwest Oregon Regional Airport: with flights on United from Denver(DEN) and SF (SFO) Either airport will require a rental car to get to camp (roughly 90 miles away either direction)
5. Is there power and wifi at camp?
Camp does NOT have power unless the generator is on. When the generator is on only the bathrooms and A-frame have power. There is no wifi at camp.
6. Is there parking?
There is plenty of parking.
7. How big is camp?
The Camp is 52.5 acres and has access to a creek for swimming.
8. How flat is camp?
Camp is on the side of a steep hill. From the camp gate to the A-frame is a 500-foot elevation change. The cabins stretch over a 200-foot elevation gain. The Area around the A-frame and meadow has minimal elevation change. Please feel encouraged to bring bicycles, E-scooters, or other ways to ease your access.
9. What are the activities?
This event is what we make of it if you want to lead a workshop or group conversation feel encouraged to do so. There are miles of hiking trails, a creek to explore, and if all else fails the kitchen can always use a few extra hands.
10. When can we show up?
Friday, October 3: Check-in starts at noon!
Sunday, October 5: Checkout at 4 pm!
Please plan your arrival to the logging road 2 hrs before dark. That road is no joke.
If you want to land a day early sign up for load in crew!
11. How hard can we party?
Please don’t get drunk or use white drugs (coke, meth, heroin, etc.) We are all adults here please don’t make anyone else babysit you.
12. Can we smoke?
When smoking check-in with those around you! Oregon is a state where weed is legal.
If smoking tobacco, please go to the tobacco zone near the A-frame or smoke at the table outside your cabin. DO NOT Wonder while you smoke.
13. Can we be naked?
It is legal to be a “raw” human anywhere in the state of Oregon. Feel free to be naked. Don’t make it weird, keep a coverup if going in the kitchen, and no walking and wanking.
14. Can we have sex or do BDSM?
This is NOT a sex-focused gathering you are welcome to have all the sex/play you want but please don't include others without their explicit consent.
15. When you say the cabins are rustic what do you mean?
Good question. The cabins are made of plywood are not insulated and are screened in for some portion of them some have full doors some have screened in doors. We suggest extra blankets and push pins to make your space extra cozy. The bunks are just wood platforms so you need to pack your own sleeping mat along with your other bedding.
16. Can you tell me about accessibility?
The land is on a steep hillside but the “downtown” area of camp (bathrooms a frame and a fire pit) is more flat. Bathrooms are ADA compliant with shower chairs and grab bars available. Vehicle camping in the lower meadow is the most accessible camping option. All cabins are up a hill and have a few stairs. The hill is steep enough to blow the fuse on a power chair. You are welcome to drive up and down the hill from the cabins to the lower meadow for ease of access. Powerchairs and scooters will need a Jackery or to be charged at the A-frame while the generator is running. C-paps will need a battery pack (they can be recharged in the A frame) The main road through camp is paved, and the rest of the area around the Bunkhouse/Kitchen and Fire pit is graveled. We will meet people's disclosed dietary restrictions if registered by September 1 as menu planning can be tricky and takes time.
17. How do I register?
Here is the Google Doc Registration Link!
18. I noticed the registration link doesn’t have a pay link. How do I pay for the event?
The payment link will be sent to people once they have completed the registration form. Please keep an eye out for the email with the link. If you run into problems please contact us! All Payments are due 30 days after you register. After that point, your spot will not be held. There is a final deadline of September 15th!
19. I am still unsure do you have anything with even more in-depth info?
